In the past 2 years Chiropractors have been targeted by companies wanting to resell Google Adwords or Yahoo Marketing (Pay Per Click Advertisement). In case you don't know what this is, let me explain. When a person searches for a Chiropractor or even a keyword such as back pain treatment, a series of 2 to 3 ads will show up on the top of all of the search results. They will usually be in bigger text with a yellow background color (google). On the right you will see 10 more ads. Those ads are the lower bidders.

The company calling you is probably trying to sell you a package for about $150 to $200 per month. That's not so bad, but the problem is what you are getting for the money. In the research we performed 99% of the client were paying for only $10 to $20 bucks work of clicks. That is an OUTRAGE! Don't be fooled by the fast talking so called "Search Engine Consultant". 

Google adwords is very simple to setup yourself. It's only a 4 step process:

1. Signup (Enter Name, Region to Advertise)
2. Choose Mode - Simple Campaign is the easiest way to go. You can always switch to adanced mode later.
3. Enter Keywords (No more than 20 Keywords)
4. Enter Budget and Max Bid

From step 2 to 4 doesn't matter in which order you enter the details. Remember to only add about 20 keywords. Anything over the 20 is going to "dillute" your ads. I would suggest on the more popular keywords that you bid higher. A good $2 to $3 bucks should put you to the top. If you go cheap you may get out bidded by your competitor down the street.
